Hey Suzie, Thank you so much for writing this article. This came up in my medium dashboard and I clicked it right away because I feel the same. I was a CrossFit coach that felt stressed out because I felt the need to WOD (intensely) every day in order to get the six pack and to "lead by example" for my community. I left the CrossFit affiliation and sold my gym 2 years go and ever since, I just avoided CrossFit or any intense exercise completely because well ... it stressed me out physically and mentally. I am climbing back into "moving" and "stretching" through the online peloton program because I now have a 9-5 job ... and the point you make here is the MOST IMPORTANT thing ANYONE needs to learn before actually considering any kind of transformation. I am sharing this with all of my trainers and gym owners and hope that the message can be passed on to their clients. Please continue to do the best authentic work you can do as a personal trainer.
